97891 2002-11-11 23:15:00 After all the Hassle of getting my modem to work.
I booted to linux yesterday only to find I got a message telling me i have a Corrupt file system, could someone possibly point me in the direction of the relevant Howto, or something in plain english that tells me how to get around this, I don't really mind having to reinstall as I haven't got anything much on there, Mandrake 8.1 Dual boot system
thanks in advance

97892 2002-11-12 00:41:00 What type of linux filesystem are you running there? I can only assume that it is ext2.

A solution to it sounds like:

www.computing.net

Make sure you shutdown linux correctly. Using a journalled filesystem such as ext3 or reiser helps prevent some problems.

I'm assuming that your hard drive isn't physically faulty :)

97893 2002-11-12 04:50:00 If in doubt reinstall it :D There is a repair programme for ext2 ... if the sytem is booting to single user mode it will tell you how to use it, as part of the error message. Graham L (2)
