| 98436 | 2002-11-14 03:44:00 | Guys I need to crush a 500k pdf document to under 200k. I've zipped it but only managed to get it down to 450k-ish, which still isn't small enough. Is there any way to do this without wrecking the quality? Thanks |

| 98437 | 2002-11-14 03:50:00 | I'm surprised that Zip managed to reduce it. A PDF is compressed already. If you have any pictures included, perhaps you could reduce their quality/resolution to get their size down. Otherwise I can't think of anything, unless you can simplify the design. The less complicated a page is, the less PostScript code is required to describe it. But a PDF is not like JPEG file, with selectable quality/size trade offs. | Graham L (2) | ||

I downloaded a 12mb bzipped file a few weeks ago and extracted 75+mb of files from it :) needless to say, I was impressed! :D Mike. |
