| 98256 | 2002-11-13 02:01:00 | i am running a 800MHz duron, i was wondering if i could up grade it an 1300MHz or 1800XP. the computer is around 1.5 years old. when i go into the blue screen thing at the start it says 800/100 does that mean its a 100 MHz front side bus, because arnt the latest ones 266MHz. any help would be great. |

| 98258 | 2002-11-13 02:46:00 | It's pretty safe to assume that you can run only Duron or Thunderbird. Which means up to 1.4 max (100 * 14. It depends on your motherboard. What make and model is it? | crozier (2004) | ||
| 98259 | 2002-11-13 06:29:00 | but in one of the other pc magazines it says if you have a slot A processor you could upgrade to an 2000XP, or any other slot A processors. | far_k_ass (2497) | ||

| 98261 | 2002-11-13 07:40:00 | >>> but in one of the other pc magazines it says if you have a slot A >>> processor you could upgrade to an 2000XP, or any other slot A >>> processors. an Athlon XP is socket A rather than slot A. There IS a difference. If you have a socket A processor you could probably upgrade to a 2000XP, but nobody sells Slot A processors new anymore (I've tried getting one). Mike. |
