| 98756 | 2002-11-15 04:39:00 | About 1 year ago I DL and installed Ad-aware 5.8. When first run it found around 8-10 spyware type applications which were deleted. I am presently running the signature file :038-16.08.2002, however since the initial installation so long ago, it has never found any additional sites. I cannot help but wonder if it is actually still working. Is there anyway to tell or perhaps I should DL and install some other progie. |

| 98757 | 2002-11-15 05:14:00 | Ad-aware is updated fairly regularly, both the program itself and the ref updates. It would pay you to visit the site and download the latest versions. You will need to uninstall the version you have before upgrading though, if yours is a year old. | Susan B (19) | ||

I now suspect that it is not working. Anyone know of a similar programe that I could try to see if it produces a different result |

| 98762 | 2002-11-15 07:04:00 | It doesn't necessarily mean that AdAware isn't working. Do you have programs installed that you think contain spyware? If so, which ones? I did see another program similar to AdAware not long ago but didn't take much notice, sorry. Perhaps a search in Google for "spyware detectors" might turn something up? |

I download heaps of stuff and the only spy ware that Ad aware has picked up over the last year is something called Alexa.awb, apparanty some sort of IE 6 plug in I beleive.
