99120 2002-11-17 00:42:00 After a recent power cut in the Dairy Flat area. The first time i turn my computer on in a day it starts continuously beeping and says keyboard error or no keyboard present.
After a forced shutdown and powering up again it works fine until the next day.

Any suggestions would be great

99121 2002-11-17 03:25:00 Try replacing your CMOS battery. godfather (25)
99122 2002-11-17 05:08:00 I've done that just a week ago. it still didn't help.
But your suggestions are still highly valued anymore would be nice.

99123 2002-11-17 05:34:00 Is it keeping the time correctly, at boot up (when it does eventually boot that is?)

It sounds like the CMOS RAM is not happy. Have you gone into the CMOS and restored the default settings, saved and exited?

99124 2002-11-19 06:59:00 That sounds like it might solve something, could you please go into greater detail about how to do that. Chao is back (634)
99125 2002-11-19 07:50:00 When it next boots up, enter the CMOS setting before the PC boots into Windows.

It should tell you on the screen what key to press, usually DEL, or F1 or F2 or...

Then check that a keyboard is "enabled", probably by this time it should be happy anyway, but when you exit make sure you Save The Settings.

It may actually pay to select the "default settings" and save them. Might clear any corruption?
