| 98998 | 2002-11-16 21:47:00 | I am using Win ME but crosswords on Stuff.co.nz will not display. I have tried mucking around with Java to no avail. Any suggestions. | anniel (2543) | ||
| 98999 | 2002-11-16 22:08:00 | What version of IE? Have you got Java installed? (the crosswords will require Javascript) If so, have you enabled it? |

| 99000 | 2002-11-16 23:43:00 | The crosswords on stuff.co.nz are Java applets which require a Java Virtual Machine to be installed on your computer, this should already be there with Win Me ... what version of Internet Explorer are you using?? Check your settings under Tools...Internet Options......Security > to make sure that you have the JVM enabled ....... As for Javascript, you will know if that is working by looking at the Top Left corner of the Stuff.co.nz page .. there is a box marked "Breaking News", if there is scrolling text there then scripting is working. Javascript and Java Applets are 2 seperate thing's so even though one may work the other may not. Under you security settings for internet explorer you can Try a few different settings but it should work under Medium, if the JVM is not installed you should get a prompt when you view the page telling you that you need it ... You can download the JVM from either Microsoft or Sun Microsystems. HTH |
