98855 2002-11-16 01:59:00 In a fit of nostalgia I have downloaded an ancient game called Skyroads and am trying to run it in Windows XP. to my surprise it works perfectly (and looks exactly the same as when I had it in 1995!), except that it won't recognise my joystick (although it does use the mouse). I have a Microsoft Sidewinder Pro which works fine in XP, but my Dos knowledge is pretty rusty, and I can't remember how to set it up so the game will recognise it. Can anyone help? Kate (2537)
98856 2002-11-16 02:08:00 A DOS programme usually is coded to access the joystick directly (with a setup menu option inside it to select mouse/joystick/keyboard control device. XP might not like that. But if it works for the mouse, it might work for joystick. Graham L (2)

DOS does not recognize USB at all AFAIK.

98858 2002-11-16 07:49:00 Crummy is probably right, as Skyroads doesnt have any separate joystick set up except for the Controls page where you can select as Graham suggested, mouse, keyboard or joystick.

Have a look at what Microsoft say here (www.microsoft.com)
