99370 2002-11-18 06:40:00 Does anyone know a free programme that allows sms messages to be sent to a Telecom mobile. ICQ does not support Telecom mobiles, only Vodophone................ta grasshopper (288)
99371 2002-11-18 07:05:00 Firstly its not that ICQ supports only vodafone, its that telecon have traditionally blocked all free text messaging progs and sites.... till now.

I was informed by a chick who picked me up hitchhiking last weekeknd that djuice.com is a gateway that telecon have decided to allow to the text message side of their network She assures me that she often gets text messages sent to her 027 xxxxxxx telecon phone that originate from that site. Weather or not this works on the 025xxxxxxx range of numbers as well she did not know...

(Maybe telecon have finally figured out that if they allow free text-to-phone that people reply and telecon can get even more $$?)

Perhaps you could try it and let us know?

99372 2002-11-18 07:13:00 I believe that djuice might actually be owned by Telecom?

Mike.

99373 2002-11-18 07:36:00 Thanks Clueless but that sites no good to me as you can only send from mobile to mobile (and it costs although minimal). I want to send from my pc to telecom mobile.

99375 2002-11-18 09:28:00 sadly this site is only free till the end of this month. dave e (474)
99376 2002-11-18 11:28:00 Thanks for your help but my understanding is that registering is free until the end of November but text messages are billed to my mobile phone (perhaps I am wrong) This is from djuice's website

What djuice costs

There is no charge to register for djuice services - they are available to you from the time your cdma or digital phone starts working. There's no monthly fees - you simply pay for what you use.

djuice services via WAP:

Unmarked menu items are charged at 7c per successful response (you can tell whether a response is successful because you will see "sending" then "receiving" on your phone screen).

Menu items marked with a "*" cost 35c for the item or category.

Email:

There is no charge to register and set-up your djuice email account at www.djuice.co.nz. djuice email via WAP costs 7c per url (send and receive).

99378 2002-11-19 02:08:00 I telephoned djuice as I registered with them but could not deregister from their website once I had decided that this wasn't for me. They confirmed that text messages are free until the end of Nevember at which time my mobile would then be charged at the normal rate of 20c per message (same as if I was using my cell phone to text message). I also registered view that their website is confusing and that it was impossible to deregister from that site. LOL grasshopper (288)
