99363 2002-11-18 05:50:00 Hi.

I bought the D-Link DSC-350 Digital Camera yesterday. It acts as both a WebCam and Digital Camera. It worked great when I installed it - but then when I upgraded the drivers from the dlink website. From then on whenever i went into NetMeeting or any other WebCam-mode software it gives me a nasty blue screen of death and prompty restarts windows. Taking pictures is awesome, its just its WebCam drivers that are playing up.

Anybody know how to fix this?

Thanks.

99364 2002-11-18 05:53:00 Mikee, Apart from the double post... what version of the operating system are you talking about here.

99366 2002-11-18 07:44:00 Mikee,

If worked previously were you not able to do a System restore back to the point BEFORE the updated drivers trouble?

Otherwise can you deinstall all the camera software and reinstall it? .

99367 2002-11-18 08:02:00 Good thinking, but, I've allready tired both of those ideas . You wouldn't believe how many times I have tired uninstalling software and/or drivers to solve the problem .

However, the reason system restore didn't work is because every time I have tired it (and I have tried multiple restore dates) it goes throughout all its processes and then when it reloads windows again it informs me that it was unsuccessful . Not sure how to solve that; there is not WindowsUpdate for it either .

As for uninstalling the drivers and/or software: I think it doesn't work because when I origionally installed them, and every time I have installed new versions, it has changed the C:\Windows\System32 etc files and hasn't uninstalled them when I uninstall the software . Don't get the uninstaller wrong though - it does do a good job and get rid of all the stuff it installed - but unfortunetly it looks as though it didn't get rid of those few that are causing this problem . Well, thats my theory anyway .

Thanks .

99368 2002-11-18 11:13:00 I use one of these Cameras on XP Home with the original driver. It protests when I install the driver but it works.

As a web cam it is OK, but as a snap shot camera it is terrible. Very poor definition & erratic light &colour control.

I have an "Aptec Smart Camera" which was half the price & is very good, exellent photos, has a flash & includes a 16meg card.

99369 2002-11-20 08:56:00 I know, i installed the camera on a family's PC also running WindowsXP Professional and it worked perfectly . I have recently installed Windows on a second partition, just for the Camera so I can install it with the origional drivers, and it gives me the same Blue Screen of Death .

Any ideas?
