99201 2002-11-17 09:26:00 It sounds like a damaged or "old" dll file. Sometimes these files get "replaced" when you install software. Usually you get asked "a file on your system is older than the one being copied" and you get to say Yes or No.
If you ever allow an older one to replace the newer one this can happen. Or bad installers can do it.

Since you have XP, try the easy route first. Go START | RUN | type

sfc /scannow

then press enter.

Thre is a space between <sfc> and </scannow>

This should compare all your dll files with the ones in the dll cach and replace any damaged ones. It may ask for your XP CD.

By the way, the "apostrophe" key is next to the "enter" key, I feel like I have the hiccups when I'm reading your text where the comma is used instead :D

99203 2002-11-17 10:08:00 Thats a bit weird?

Whats the history of the machine?
The error message suggests it's a client (or was) in a server / client setup.
Was XP installed as a stand-alone or was the PC part of a corporate network at some stage??

99205 2002-11-23 00:27:00 i had posted this post earlier and would like to know if this is something i can fix myself with my limited knowledge or is it covered under the warranty for the computer.. If i need to uninstall say outlook express say . its not available in the ordinary add remove program i,m stuck ..nothing is wrong yet but you never know when things will go wrong.. thanks johnboy (217)
99206 2002-11-23 02:21:00 Have you added any programmes over the ones which were installed when you got it? If you haven't, I'd get them to fix it. Anyway, have a talk to them. Have you got a PC Company repair CD, or proper MS installation disks? Graham L (2)
