99645 2002-11-19 07:42:00 When I entered my password at the XP login the password characters used to show as bullet points.
Now they are showing as empty square boxes.
What's gone wrong and how do I fix it?

99647 2002-11-20 01:30:00 The empty square boxes usually indicate that the font being used does not have a character for the code.

(Most password-hiding is done with asterisks; "*". Is XP different?)

This is at login so the font doesnt matter. I've heard of something like this before though.

Yes . . and check whether any setting might have changed in Regional settings . . such as Display non uni code characters . . etc . Or have u recently install NJStar, Unionway, Richwin . . etc ?

99650 2002-11-20 03:03:00 Hi

Dependant on your logon type, if you are using the family login - you can right click inside the password box and options come up (can't remember what they are) and in there you can choose if you want your password to go from left to right, vice versa, etc

Sorry about the lack of information - I did stuff like that on the school computers to upset the administrator...
