99523 2002-11-19 00:41:00 Hi
I have XP Home Edition with zonealarm on at all times. Just recently it has asked if it can allow an .exe file by the name of "trickle_3210.exe" to access the internet.
Does anyone know what this file is and if it is part of XP?
Your answer would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

99524 2002-11-19 00:47:00 This is Spyware and should not be allowed. You can remove it by going to http://www.lavasoftusa.com and downloading Ad-Aware.
However, removing it may disable some programs like Kazaa that use it. If you have Kazaa, get KazaaLite from KazaaLite.com
Otherwise, You could simply leave it on your PC and disable any internet usage rights in ZoneAlarm, however, the piece of software would still be running and so it would be slowing down and still monitoring your PC.
