| 99545 | 2002-11-19 22:26:00 | Right, well if that's set then I'll order the Creative Sound Blaster Live! Digital 5.1 this afternoon. I'm going to go with the MSI Geforce 4 MX 440SE-T 64MB DDR VideoCard with TV Out for my graphics card. Are these wise choices, or am I setting myself up for failure here or bad quality outputs?! Has anybody had any first hand experience with either of these cards? Thanks for all your help Chilling_Silence |

Most motherboards com with onboard sound which is fine and probably just as good as those cards you are looking at. I think you would be better off waiting a bit longer and buying a SB Live. They are really good cards for your money and have all those extra features such as "EAX and 3D Audio Technology" which will make games like UT2003 sound really nice. Save that $40 wait till you've got $100 and treat yourselft to a SB LIve. Plus that card will last for ages and you can transfer it over to any future PC's. |

I've heard good things about MSI on the net always wanted to try one of their products. Sounds like your building a new PC? what other parts you gonna use sounds like it will be a nice machine | Pete O'Neil (250) | ||
| 99549 | 2002-11-19 22:43:00 | VO is a must, VI can always wait, it'd be another $120 for a PCI card that'll do it for me. Not too much of a hurry for VI at the moment... | Chilling_Silence (9) | ||

| 99551 | 2002-11-19 23:01:00 | Hey .. what kinda CPU r u gonna use ? There's a Socket 478 Motherboard that supports both SD & DDR RAM (u can use either one but not both) so when DDR is cheap u can change from SD to DDR :) the board also comes with 5.1 channel sound card, 1xAGP, 3xPCI, 4xUSB 2.0 and Onboard Video as well . for $145 .. that's quite cheap | SKT174 (1319) | ||
