| 99835 | 2002-11-20 06:25:00 | On an earlier post I bemoaned the PC company for jerking me around on a refund of defective items purchased at a PC company clearance sale. Repeated attempts to get a refund, particularly on two hard drives for school workstations had driven me nuts and stretched over a month. WELL Today Dale Townsend, the general manager of their business division arrived at my school to offer an apology. Big deal you may think but he actually read the posts here ( brownie points for that) actually drove 80 km from Hamilton, presented me with full refund and to cap it off also presented me with 2 new 20 gig segate hardrives which he had personally formated and tested. In addition he was very candid about the screwup in the companies dealings with me and didn't duck for cover or mince words over the monumental screwup. I liked this guy, I especially liked him after he handed over the new hardrives but avarice aside, this a guy who talks the talk and walks the walk. You have probs with PC company in the Waikato area ask for him. |

| 99841 | 2002-11-20 08:37:00 | Excellent. I am not sure that we here at PressF1 wield the influence equivalent of the Holmes show, so I am not convinced Sonik is correct. However, if a company fixes the problem and does it in style, then they deserve credit for that. Anyone can cock up, not everyone wants to put it right. Also, good on you Highlander, for letting us know. While people here do hand out brickbats with regularity, there aren't many bouquets. Top result, all round. robo. |

| 99842 | 2002-11-20 10:36:00 | Oh come on Rob. This is IDG's PressF1. A mention in NZ's most widely read magazine about sloppy service won't get any brownie points and that's something that even your basic door-to-door salesman should know. Especially after the modem card fiasco. Hell, I bet he's even hoping to turn the whole situ around and get a good mention in PCWorld. SiK |

| 99843 | 2002-11-20 17:15:00 | That's terribly cynical of you, SK. We should just be happy that F1 might have helped another citizen out there. "Our work here is done. Adios until next time, Amigo." robo. |
