| 99865 | 2002-11-21 22:18:00 | >Isn't that what customer service is all about absolutly >are you saying that sometimes it's too hard to help a customer.... yes and no.. Take this scenario, a buzy shop and custumer 1 is recognised, asks if the "product" will meet all requirements and seems to know what they want. Some prior research on the product may have even been done beforehand C1 is making the effert to look after C1 needs and chooses to be a happy customer. Customer 2 just wants to spend $X, thinks it knows what it's talking about but clearly doesn't really know or wish to be told, but has the money ready to pay for the "product" that doesn't even do what is required, but seeing its the latest one ( or whatever the color newsdrop said) they want it. C1 is likely to get service C2 is likely to get burnt... if that shop wont sell them rubbish, they'll find someone who will .Clueless |

| 99867 | 2002-11-21 22:29:00 | Since collecting the bits and pieces for my new PC I've had some rather, er...... interesting experiences with a handful of suppliers. Some have been excellent to deal with: Ascent, HotChips and Starlyte. They have been quick, courteous and responsive to all my queries and the first two delivered the goods when they said they would. Starlyte didn't have what I wanted but I have heard a lot of good things about their prompt deliveries. TasTech supplied most of what I wanted, because he is local and cheap. He got what I wanted within a couple of days but unfortunately he's not so hot responding to email queries which I believe could cost him dearly. I only got what I wanted by using the phone, and even that wasn't easy. Same goes for Dragon, although he's been more responsive just lately. The worst of the lot, which greatly surprised me, is Styles PC. They are proof that you can't judge a supplier by their impressive website. Not only did I have trouble getting them to indicate when I could collect my bits, but when they were collected the keyboard and floppy drive were not the brand/model ordered and had had confirmed. It was only by my determination and persistance that I got the floppy drive I originally ordered AND a receipt. It was unbeliveable how much trouble it was getting that receipt and surprise surprise it states clearly on it that no returns or warranty claims can be made without it. Bouquets to Ascent, HotChips and Starlyte, brickbats to Styles PC whom I will never deal with again. Customer service and common courtesy every step of the way will bring buyers back and gain more customers from the happy ones that spread the word. They should never forget that. |

My guess is the next time he wants to buy some componants or a new system the will not be near the top of his list because he'll not want to through it all again. You can bet your ass on that one. It was a rash impulsive move on my part. i just can't resist component sales and auctions. I haven't actually purchased anything from the pc company since 1999. I asked them for a quote on 14 workstations for my school and never heard from them until 3 months after I bought them from another company. I only deal from PB Tech Hamilton now. They aren't always the cheapest place around but they are super effecient, have the best service, build premium gear and look after their customers. |
