99922 2002-11-20 21:34:00 Thought of a few more things just after I shut down for the night:

Terrorism - A few shows must have been postponed/cancelled in Moscoe recently. Also affect tourism - Bali.

Weather/Storms/Sea - How many people were sleeping in the Cook Straight ferry terminal the other night? Was once trapped on Great Barrier on a yacht for a week (the trip back at the end of the storm has cancelled any further interest in sailing!)

Weather/Storms/Rivers - We canoed down the Wanganui River the week after Hurricane Bola. Anyone going the previous week would have postponed or cancelled.

River risings - was once nearly trapped (or washed away which ever you prefer) by a rising river caused by rain in the mountains. If we had postponed our river crossing by an hour one or other of the above would have happened (actually, we were rather lucky one of the above DIDN'T happen!)

Weather/Fog - closes airports, postpones flights, diverts flights to buses (was at a conference recently. One of the speakers was diverted to Palmerston North and had to bus to Wellington from there. Arrived 10 mins before she had to speak)

Volcanic erruptions - cancels skiing, ash closes airports (Auckland a few years back)

Fires

Floods

other Natural disasters

Mechanical failure - a train breakdown recently postponed my daughter's arrival at work by half-an-hour. Her car's flat battery put her on the train in the first place.

Accidents - shall we mention Auckland's motorways? Perhaps not, I'm in favour of Time IN Motion.

Power failures - postpones dinner, getting on the Net...

Illness - last year's family pre-Christmas party cancelled due to a serious illness

Death - It kind of stops things in it's track

Are you talking about the London Underground where trains get held up almost daily by people throwing themselves in front of the trains? :(

99925 2002-11-21 00:19:00 Another couple:

My apathy addiction meeting was cancelled due to lack of interest... ;)

(OK, I know it's an oldie but I still like it)

More sensibly, I have seen events cancelled due to an inability to obtain insurance coverage.

99926 2002-11-22 04:26:00 IMHO marriage should be considered a sporting event, except that you never really get a sporting chance.

Cancellation can occur for all of the above reasons,
as well as for:

what you did
what you didn't do,
what you thought
what you didn't think
what you said
what you didn't say
what you saw
what you didn't see
what you wore
what you didn't wear
what you bought
what you didn't buy
what you ate
what you didn't eat
what you drank
what you didn't drink
how you drove
how you didn't drive
where you went
Where you didn't go
Who you saw
Who you didn't see
Who you talked to
who you didn't talk to
What you did while you were awake
what you did while you were asleep
what you said while you were awake
what you said while you were asleep (oh yeah!)

In fact, there are only two things that you can absolutely rely on and they should be your rock:

Everything you say, and everything you do...............will be wrong.

Naturally there is a caveat, there just has to be in this situation:

Anything else that cannot even remotely be said to be your fault is either the dog's, your mother's, your sister 's or your previous amour's fault. And therefore you are directly responsible.

Of course that's just a male point of view and I could be wrong.

Your yardage and frequency may vary :D

99928 2002-11-23 01:36:00 Ummmmmm............

I was referring to cancellation of privileges actually Susan, but nice of you to ask. :8}

No, there is, and has only ever been one Mrs T, and if asked, she would probably say that some poor woman had to make the sacrifice and she drew the short straw! :)

99929 2002-11-23 05:19:00 On the local radio station (saturday morning) the cancellations were cancelled due to no cancellations.

Billy, you were right on the mark with that list of yours LOL.

Susan, I thought you were Billy's sister. Don't you get invited to the weddings?

BALDY:-)

99930 2002-11-23 22:22:00 Hi Baldy

Little sister Susan wouldn't be able to afford the presents for that many weddings and I couldn't afford the rings.

Thinks ?:| Could I buy the one ring to wed them all? :x

I left off the killer marital failing though ]:)

I got into deep strife once for what my wife dreamt I did :(

That is the world's original marital no-win situation, I mean, I wasn't even there at the time, I was at home in bed :|

Cheers
