100444 2002-11-24 04:14:00 The rules for getting yourself out of hole that you have dug yourself into are as follows:
- Own Up
- Apologise
- Grovel

Digging yourself in deeper include:
- Trying to justify your error
- Doing it in public
- Doing it in full view of the person you should be grovelling to.

How deep is the current hole?
Getting wider and deeper by the minute.

100446 2002-11-24 05:27:00 Orcon is a really good service, I have an account with them and I am nothing but pleased with their service. For the first time since using their web service, i had downtime today (a few hours, and then some shakey time while uploading via FTP) but thats all good because they were probably under maintence? nothing wrong with improving...

anyway i reckon the T&C were given to you when you signed up with your ORCON account...just like when adding a website it dosnt give website T&C (like no warez) it gives all that when you FIRST sign up.

So you DID agree to the T&C, otherwise you woudln't have an account.
Just pay, you arn't Geoff Palmer...

100447 2002-11-24 05:31:00 Anyway to use my own little analogy

Say you walked past a music shop. they had tapes on the outside of the shop, on a table. you thought of buying one but instead thought "how far cood i go?" so u picked one up and just walked off with it. afterall, you didnt "enter the shop" or read "plz pay for this".

if the shop had caught u, through a camera or otherwise, would you refuse to pay? say you were seeing how far you could go?

...just pay the $29

100448 2002-11-24 05:36:00 Hey

Dunno if you'll get this in time (NCEA exams have been recking havoc with my "I Must Use The Internet 3 Hours Or More Per Day Policy") Anyway, if the worse comes to the worst go to: YouthLaw (http://www.youthlaw.co.nz) - it's a site with free legal advice for minors - and yes they are (supposedly) real lawyers....

Try your luck there

100449 2002-11-24 05:39:00 I agree with Heather.

SonikAlien, your rather banal "cut and paste" response to what I thought was an excellent reply from Orcon beggars belief.

Whether or not you read the T&C is YOUR problem. Not Orcons. They provided a service which you "accidently" left on, after you "accidently" hooked up to see "how easy" it was to get connected. Your problem. Not theirs!

Mate,

You've just managed to come across as a complete tosser to myself, and probably the majority of others in here. Did you want to try and censor me here?

Chucking your toys and abusing members of the PressF1 Community does nothing for your reputation. I am disappointed by your lack of responsibility, and am saddened to see the level you've sunk down to.

I hope you do take this post back, as PressF1 is about helping others. If help involves being admonished from time to time, take it on the chin... There's no need to tell people to "F" off...

I think you need to think about that.

Lo.
