| 100304 | 2002-11-22 21:29:00 | The statement "The best things in life, are Free!" is only true if one doesn't pay for one's women. | Greg S (201) | ||
| 100305 | 2002-11-23 01:44:00 | But 'free' women usually come at a price, and usually one that nobody would willingly pay :O So the alternative maxim holds true: There is no such thing as a free lunch Cheers Billy 8-{) :D |

| 100306 | 2002-11-23 03:13:00 | Why not get a content filter as well as an AV program? This would have the added advantage of blocking the virus by simply adding the name of the new virus to your content filter definitions. If some bizarrely unknown one comes along that you miss, then hopefully your AV software can detect it (if it's aware of the virus). Content filters and AV software are only as good as the updates - whether it's manually updating the content filter, or automatically updating the AV software. But having both is better than having a virus. For the record, I have NAV and a secret ninja content filter... hehe Cheers The Sharkmeister |

| 100308 | 2002-11-24 08:41:00 | Not sure if this thread is still on-topic but feel I have to add my one cents worth. I have seen and used in the past 10 (?) years many, many different av progs. Norton's is always the best. I'm not reseller of symantec products but the amount of times I have seen virii slip past mcaffee and pccillian (which is crap BTW, in my opinion) and I always come back to NAV. And I'm talking a heap of PCs here, mostly home users who as we know are extremely cost concious, and although some perservere with the freebies, the ones who have been caught eventually drift back to NAV. And also, to add to a comment above, for the married ones here, there is no such thing as a "free" woman. |
