He used the service he pays and it should be the full $29 as they are the terms that Orcon supposidly uses. It sounds a bit sus that SiK did this by "accident". In the court of law failure to know the law is no excuse. It's the same with contracts. Why don't i go down the road and hit someone, then say i didn't know you weren't allowed to do that and get off the charge. Unlikely, same in SiK's case |

Oh come on... these guy's are just providing a service... what ISP provides a "day by day" service anyway? Do Pizza Hutt charge by the slice? Nope. You pay for the full pizza regardless of how much you eat. Taking the moral high ground and not being prepared to face the consequences of your action is what really annoys me about the attitude of some ppl today. If you are going to speed on the motorway, then you can expect to pay a fine. Why should you be entitled to reduce the charge of the fine just because you "didn't know the speed limit" or in this case you were "tutuing" around?? I dunno... if you get off without penalty, then all power to you. Personally, I feel that ppl nowadays should take responsibility for what they do. Lo. |

| 100426 | 2002-11-23 08:55:00 | I think realistically Sik, you'll have to pay. Having not read the T&C is your fault, and your fault only. Most companies would probably flag the charge if you asked them nicely, but it does look like you knew what you we're doing, so you're on thin ground... I'd give them a call, ask nicely, and see what happens. If that fails, pay, and I'm sure you will read things more carefully before clicking next time. :) One must also give Orcon some respect for providing the 2x 100MBit Lines that feed DCPP... :) Erin |

I would expect better lineage than that . :p >>Is fiddling around "to see how far you can go" not another way of saying you were trying to get around security measures? Is driving up a private driveway to see how far you could go before you got stopped by a gate trying to get around security measures? No . If you know anything about hacking (not that I'm claiming to) then you will know that the approach I took is a very lame one if I had criminal intent . >>Oh come on . . . these guy's are just providing a service . . . what ISP provides a "day by day" service anyway? What the hell has that got to do with the price of fish? All I bloody asked was what my legal obligations were . I din't ask for a berating from someone who belies little knowledge in the security industry . If I was in a worse mood I might tell you things that could get me into trouble . Stay outa my face Lo . If you are going to post something as controversial as this to a public board, getting feedback on it is to be expected . Last time I checked, this WAS a public board and it is a free country, so I can express however I feel . Either way, you've come across as a guy who likes to explore stuff and doesn't worry about silly things such as credit ratings, etc . . . ;) Relax and enjoy your Sunday arvo :) Lo . |
