| 100565 | 2002-11-22 06:22:00 | The issue is, if it will work with a PCI graphics card at all. The MS-6378 does not permit the disabling of the on-board graphics. It may allow a PCI to work or it may not See if you can borrow one or be able to return anything you buy. I have had experience with other types of motherboards where they refused to boot with a PCI graphics card when it was not possible to disable the on-board graphics. |

Ooh... :_| By the way if you can't disable the on-board graphics, how high are my chances of getting a PCI graphic card working? And To SKT174: Does that site really tell me if MS-6378 can or can not support PCI graphics cards? Cause I don't seem to be able to find it ?:| . Thanks for the site though. Any more ideas? or suggestions? Thanks alot :) |

As I said however, I have found a situation where the on-board graphics would not allow disabling and the PCI Graphicd (32 Meg Geoforce 2 MX) would not work . Any slot, anyhow . The PC would beep to indicate "faulty video adapter" Another PC, different Motherboard and it was OK, even though the on-board graphics couldn't be disabled on that one either, it shared OK . It just recognised it and I loaded the drivers . Short answer, you've probably got a good chance it will work, and both adapters will function . But if it doesn't work, because its not able to share, you will not be able to "force" it work . It may depend on the type of video card as well . |
