| 100813 | 2002-11-23 04:30:00 | I have a Hewlett Packard Pavilion with your average PCI slots. I bought a PCI 3D card today, and when my mate and I went to install it, we discovered the coverings on the slots wouldn't come off. I have never intsalled computer hardware before, but he has many times, and he didn't really want to risk breaking the metal. The covering has two small metal tabs connecting it to the part thats not supposed to come away. Trying to bend/snap the covering off, the metal noticeably bends. Is this normal? Should I try calling the helpline? (they're closed now, have to try them again tommorow) I need this card for Black and White and to run Unreal Tournament at something about 10 frames/sec. Thanks for the help people. Oh, and I don't believe I have an AGP slot, but how do I check? I have 3 PCI slots (one already taken by the modem that came in the comp) and the fourth bay has an odd connection, my more computer literate mate doesn't know if its AGP or not. Thanks again. | Adam_with_HP (2601) | ||
