| 100978 | 2002-11-24 07:48:00 | Hi All, Have installed windows 95 with microsoft office/excel95. problem is after downloading xls files then trying to open them ,some open but some dont. The dont ones a window pops up saying " file format is not valid" Why do some open and others dont. Can anybody help me? Cheers, Hawkie....... |

| 100980 | 2002-11-24 08:09:00 | Cadifan will be correct. Office 95 use as default formats seems to have given way to Office 97 formats. Kind people will still save in the universal Office 95-97 format, but most dont. You can download an excel 97 viewer free from MS, but you can only view them not convert. I regularly get friends sending me word and excel files to convert so they can work on them. |

| 100981 | 2002-11-24 08:10:00 | Hawkie, the files you are downloading have been created on more recent versions of Excel than you have. You will have to ask the people who send you Excel files to save them as Excel 95 Workbooks (not their current version of Excel). | Oxie (1318) | ||
