1322390 2013-01-11 01:54:00 Hi all.
Bit of advise, please, but is this a good setup for my WiFi modem?

Granddaughter had a massive problem connecting her I Pod, but something to do with my complicated password,
I think..

X's just hide the real, rest as is.

Thanks,
Ian.

1322391 2013-01-11 02:27:00 Can't see anything wrong with that. Personally, I show the SSID as I like to see what is broadcasting.

But, overly complicated passwords/phrases can, and do, cause many aggravations as you have found! Especially if the password is not being shown on entry. Is yours really that long? Long is good but you don't need more than 12-15 for practical purposes.

1322392 2013-01-11 02:39:00 Try a shorter pass, I also had huge problems with an iPod, it didn't like the radio mode (20/40MHz Bandhop) or 5GHz N, see yours is B/G only so I dont think that will be a problem. The Error Guy (14052)

1322394 2013-01-12 01:31:00 Thanks for comments, guys.
Something new now, I have a Panasonic CF-50 and it's driving me nuts, being so slow.
Any ideas on a decent Linux, that'll speed her up and one thats easy to set up the wifi, cause thats all I got.
I'm not very well and stress don't help, so need an easy update to Linux.
Thanks,
Ian.

Presuming you are running Windows, it might be easier to cleanup your system and optimise it, then start all over with a new OS. Or do a reinstall. The computer is usually not the problem, Windows just gets clagged up over time.

I bought it, 2nd hand, just before Christmas with a fresh install of XP Pro.
Only trouble is, he wouldn't give me an XP Pro disk.
Has product code on base, but buying one a tad expensive.
Any ideas where I could get a copy, without costing an arm and a leg?
Thanks..
