| 1321606 | 2013-01-06 10:12:00 | Hi All I've got a weird one thats been bugging me for ages. I use Cashbook Complete to do my business accounts, which I think is all designed around Microsoft Access 97. Now when I'm in it and want to use the scroll function within a displayed table it will only work using an old IBM optical mouse and the corresponding driver (Which is set to universal scrolling). It will not work when I use my Logitech wireless mouse, or a microsoft optical mouse (with correct drivers installed). This is obviously annoying as the mouse is nothing flash and not that sensitive so I would like to upgrade it, but it is too frustrating using Cashbook Complete without the scroll function. When using my Logitech wireless mouse I have tried changing the universal scrolling options etc with in setpoint but still can't get it to work. This was the same when I used to use Windows XP, where as I'm now on Windows 7 64bit, so I don't think its an OS issue. Is there something I'm missing? Cheers |

Wireless mouses (mice?) were not available, or common if they were, so the software was not written to accommodate them. I have the same issue with my optical mouse in old programs written for Windows 95 that I still use in Win XP. It is a mystery as to why you can use your IBM optical mouse and not the Microsoft one but is most likely to be a driver issue. Can you get the Microsoft mouse to use the IBM drivers in the mouse properties or in hardware devices? |
