1297321 2012-08-27 22:10:00 120mph without hitting anything? Maybe we should send the police over there and get her to give them some training. Iantech (16386)
1297322 2012-08-27 22:18:00 Unlucky to have that happen on you. Still, nice to see she handled it and kept dodging without hitting anything. Nick G (16709)

I agree, it makes no sense. I once had the throttle stick on full on me when taking off from a driveway into a busy road, you panic and it takes a few seconds to figure out what to do, but certainly not extended runaway driving. In my case I turned right into traffic, and then had to stop on a red light only to discover the throttle was stuck; It went like this;
Accelerate hard to hit a gap in traffic
See red light, lift foot, car still accelerating
Slam on the brakes, front wheels lock up, car still accelerating (1st gear, 2 litre rear wheel drive car at about 4000 RPM, the road code tells you braking will work!)
Take it out of gear, engine hits about 8000 RPM
Turn off ignition, stand on the brakes, car stops
Lift the throttle off the floor with my foot, gingerly start the car and crawl around the block and go back home to see what's wrong.

1297328 2012-08-28 00:34:00 Morons. Shouldn't be allowed out of the bedroom without a minder.

Take it out of gear - use brakes - switch off engine.

Well....look at her picture...

999 Woman: "have you put it in neutral"
Moron: "can't get it to move"

And:
"After a 35-minute ordeal covering 95km, Ms Ubelstad was able to stop her car by following the troopers' directions to lift up the accelerator while applying the brake."

Didn't even have to turn it off.....lift your foot you idiot....it's going fast cause you have your foot pushing on it...

WTF...
