1474719	2021-01-26 08:04:00	I was brought up in the 50s and the hair style in those days - you had no choice - was short back and sides. These days it's the latest hair style. They even shave their back and sides in a similar way. In the 50s our parents told us that that was how we were to wear our hair. It was the way our fathers wore their hair. It was the way they wore their hair in the second world war. Long hair harboured lice and other nasties so when they joined the forces they had their hair shaved that way. It was something that came to be the norm and they were disgusted when long hair came into vogue. In the 50s we were told how we were to wear our hair. These days they have the choice. And they choose short back and sides. Ridiculous!:horrified	Roscoe (6288)
1474720	2021-01-26 18:32:00	I used to have longer hair (in my teens) shoulder length- These days its either # 2 or 3 All over and its not so hot, and easier to dry after a shower. Mind you the fronts disappearing on its own :lol:	wainuitech (129)

And actually long or short, nits don't care. It's also a myth that they like dirty hair. And the shaved look is not trendy now...not sure what is (nor care) , but so says my hairdresser.... Short is good for men with not much hair. Otherwise you end up with the trump look, or even worse........	piroska (17583)
1474723	2021-01-26 20:01:00	Im pretty sure hair started getting longer again in the 50's , with the coming of Rock & roll etc. Look back at photos in the 40's , I see plenty of long hair . Long still not touching the shoulders though. In the late 70's , buzzcuts & even full baldy cut started to be fashionable again (punk) , so we'd have hippies with hair down past the shoulders & otehrs with very short hair. At least that fad of men getting perms is long gone , thank god. I wonder if that was just to make the toupee blend in easier ? It was popular with some on the TV (eg Brady Bunch & the NZ sportscaster who famously got a perm) It looks like the full baldie is back in fashion now, much better looking than a combover . Shaving my head every morning is something extra I just wouldnt want to do .	1101 (13337)

1474726	2021-01-27 02:18:00	NZ was always 10 years behind the pin-ball. Mother used to cut us 5 boys' hair, used a bowl and hand clippers, that's in the 1930's/1940's. That would kill us modern folk. Short back and sides from the barber from 1949 onwards. lurking.	Lurking (218)
