1474676 2021-01-24 20:09:00 I have been recording a radio programme for a station in Levin for about the last 15 years. When I first started the station sent me open reel tapes to record the programme on. A few years later they changed to cassette. Then they went to rewritable CDs and I put down about 6 mp3s on each CD - half hour each. Now I record mp3s and upload them to their site. The progression over the years has been quite surprising. I'm wondering what is to come next? Roscoe (6288)

I was not being paid. It was a volunteer role.

1474679 2021-01-24 23:10:00 No he’s saying the next progression in that whatever the show is, is not free any more and is a subscription model that users pay for.

Until someone bigger comes and buys them as all consumers have gone assay because it’s become too fragmented and no one can be arsed paying for 20 different services.

1474680 2021-01-25 03:18:00 The next thing will be several companies stealing a copy of everything you recorded ..... "telemetry" "analysis"
or actually deciding they now own it .

sorry, thats allready happening :)

1474684 2021-01-27 07:09:00 maybe you could live stream it back to them and they could record it themselves.

Just curious, what is the purpose of having someone record the show ?

I record the show in my studio in Auckland then upload it to their site in Levin. Of all the recording methods I have used, recording as an mp3 and uploading to their site is, by far, the easiest and quickest. I used to have to have the programme recorded long before the broadcast date as I had to send the programmes by post. When I am uploading I can record the programme much closer to the broadcast date (I can upload it one day and it can be played the next, although I don't usually leave it that late.) Does that answer your question?

So technology has changed a lot and certainly for the better.
