1470184 2020-07-09 16:47:00 Would a RX 5500 XT be strong enough for Rage 2 and Doom? lostsoul62 (16011)

Awfully low down on the list....ranking is best to worst.

Buy the best you can afford even if that is last years cards....

1470187 2020-07-09 22:15:00 Would the GTX 1660 work? is it worth $50 more for the RX 5600 XT? Or could you recommend one? lostsoul62 (16011)
1470188 2020-07-09 22:49:00 you really need to do a bit of research. Hit the google : rx5500 + rage2
Also , what res do you want to play the game in, at what quality settings

www.game-debate.com
" Getting the Rage 2 running while using a Radeon RX 5500 XT 8GB can see it could result in a passable 49 FPS. Note that those results would be running at High and 1920x1080 screen res.
Although Ultra 1440p might be a bit too much for this GPU, it would return 37 FPS on High graphics setting.
In summary, while some might be tempted to play Rage 2 in 1440p resolution with the Radeon RX 5500 XT 8GB, we feel it is best placed at running at 1080p, where you could get the following frame rates - Low setting: 92 FPS, Medium setting: 73 FPS, High setting: 49 FPS, Ultra setting: 35 FPS. "

"For budget cards like a GTX 1050 or RX 560 (or older GTX 760 and R9 370), you'll probably want to drop the resolution or use resolution scaling to stay closer to 60fps."

This is really helpfull , game speed with various vid cards

1470190 2020-07-10 00:43:00 it's quite easy to find youtube videos of gameplay with popular games and most current cards. Just google something like "Rage 2 5500XT" and go to the video results tab.

I personally think a 1660 would be fine as long as you aren't expecting to dial everything up to maximum quality. I have a laptop with a 1650 in it and am quite surprised how well it games at 1080p but I have not tried those games.

Go read the link I sent.
Then go on Pricespy and see what is cheapest of the good ones.
If none, check Trademe for last years.
