| 1469651 | 2020-06-17 23:31:00 | I don't know how it happened but my USB drive is write protected which means I cannot use it. I have looked online and the instructions there either have not worked or I cannot understand the thick accent. Will someone please tell me how to rectify the problem. Your help is appreciated. |

When opening the page, I scrolled down to Part 2 and there are 3 lots of instructions. 1. Same as zqwerty posted, 2. the CMD method same as the video link, 3. the reg alteration. | wainuitech (129) | ||

| 1469657 | 2020-06-18 23:43:00 | some are write protected in firmware and can't be unlocked, like my windows 10 installation flash drive. Which is a shame because it's way out of date and could use updating. | dugimodo (138) | ||
| 1469658 | 2020-06-19 04:04:00 | I had a drive permanently write protect itself as a result of detecting a fault. In theory, it's to save the users precious data. In reality it just made the stick utterly useless. I tried the various tricks to unlock it, and while they didn't report failing to write the permissions, they also failed to change it. It might be a warning to you to consider replacing the stick. |
