| 1469389 | 2020-06-07 04:49:00 | Hi guys. I've been using Comodo Internet Security since at lest my XP days & have always found it good. It used to rank highly, but looking at it today, no so now. I had my computer guy around & he said its not so good & had to remove off some systems. I like it because its a full security suite. Can yous recommend a really good freeby suite as we on the pension & finding it tough. :thanks Ian |

At the very least get a good anti-virus such as ESET NOD32 but if you want the full suite then ESET Internet Security will get the job done. Of course you can choose any product you prefer.... I am just a big fan of ESET's products as they are rock solid and have a minimal footprint compared to others. |

All you need is a good AV Win defender is very basic . It wont scan emails (as many pay AV's do) NOD32 will scan emails, and will block websites known to have security issues. Nod is also very reliable , and rarely causes issues. If you want free , Bitdefender Free is good , but has been giving me a few false positives lately ( marking some pdf downloads as a threat & blocking it) Bitdefender Free has a very basic interface though , its not really user configurable Avoid all the other free AV's , they tend to bombard you with popups trying to sell uneeded addons and will install unwanted stuff free = bloated crapware :yuck: |

I'm with Spark & they got mcafee_433.0207.3919. Any ideas on that? |

And as its been mentioned the inbuilt Windows Defender in W10 is better than many of the Free others. An upside its 100% compatible. McAfee is worse than Malware. It should be called Crap-afee About the only good thing about McAfee is the video John McAfee made after his company was sold. :D ( most techs and some users have seen this and MANY agree) :D  www.youtube.com |
