| 101437 | 2002-11-25 23:43:00 | Ok so Im running an XP OS... Im trying to fix a Bad MBR on my 15 Gb HDD, by using FDISK /MBR. Next thing the phone rings and stupidly I ran the CMD on my 60 Gb drive..... The E:/ was my OS (5 Gb) Partition (on my 60 b Primary), now appears on the 13 Gb Hdd (in the Admiinistrative tools/Drives), which Partition Magic v8.0 refuses to see and only show as BAD.... All my paths were wrong (Media Player/IE/Office) but many of my other applications are fine.... these I have updated. However my 13 Gb now shows in Fdisk as a 19 Gb (the actual size + the OS partion which is on the 60 Gb) When I disconnect the 13 Gb drive windows wont boot properly and freezes at the login screen. I have 40 Gb of unpartitioned space, which Partition Magic now wont let me format, nor will Fdisk.. Can any one tell me why the OS requires the BAD 13 Gb to boot, when the E:/ SHOULD (physically) be on the 60 Gb??? How do I untangle all of this....... Cheers Alex |
