| 101416 | 2002-11-25 22:11:00 | Grandson running Win XP Home Edition with SP1, MS Sidewinder Precision 2 Joystick (USB connection)and standard keyboard. Instal Joystick with XP locating and installing, joystick runs ok but the keyboard is dead. Go to Device Manager, gives Joystick and keyboard as working OK, the only variation is that on the keyboard an additional item "HID Keyboard Device" is listed with the standard keyboard still highlighted. HID =Human Interface Device, Host Interface Device or Display, take your choice. Shutdown,remove the joystick, reboot, keyboard back to normal operation. Tried Joystick on my computer with same setup and got same results. Anybody had similar experiences or is this a like it or lump it situation. Mouse run OK no problems. Checked IRQs no clashes listed Frank. |
