2002-11-28 03:26:00 | Hi Kiwitas, Outpost hasn't been installed yet, but thanks for the suggestion. I normally turn it off when installing other programs but I wouldn't have thought to do so when doing a live update, so I'll remember that one. Thanks. :-)

2002-11-28 04:18:00 | Hi Susan and Kiwitas, You shouldn't have to turn off Outpost in order to do a live update (I never do). Just make sure the permissions are set correct for the update program. Cheers Jen

2002-11-28 06:31:00 | Have you turned off the built in XP firewall? | -=JM=- (16) | |
2002-11-28 06:53:00 | Yep, that was the first thing I did when installing my internet connection. | Susan B (19) | |
2002-11-28 07:05:00 | Hi susan, awile back now i had a similar prob XP & nav 02, in the files would download but not install, after posting on here somebody advised me to just keep trying (liveupdate) and that it may take a couple of tries - which worked if i remember rightly, however i deceided to reinstall nav again and the problem never arose again, so i think the way you are going about it now is the first way to go/try (in reinstalling it), hope it works for you, and theres always the symantec site - why waste a free subscription, the 0800 no always comes in handy for help too which is Ph: n.z 0800 442 795. Goodluck hope you solve it :-). Cause i think its a good A.V program personally. :p to those who don't - ;-) :-) | J ZEP (336) | |
2002-11-29 02:51:00 | Thanks for that JZEP, after uninstalling then reinstalling and LOTS of fiddling here and there, plus manually downloading everything I could get my hands on :D ........ IT WORKED!!!! Yep, got it all up-to-date now, at long last. :-) You know something? I reckon it was the threat of the AVG that I downloaded (thanx DL :-)) that did the trick. ;-)
