| 101472 | 2002-11-27 07:52:00 | hi i have the same message coming up on my computer , tried what has been suggested no fix.. emailed pc company support they suggested doing the following HOW TO DO REFRESH IN WINDOWS XP (Home/Pro) Insert PC Recovery Disk or Windows XP When the menu appears click on Install Windows XP (If a menu does not appear, go to My Computer and double-click on the CD picture) Make sure the installation type is set to New Installation and click on NEXT Click on I Agree on the license agreement screen, and click NEXT Enter your product key (found on the side of your computer) and click NEXT NOTE: Some of the three following menus may not appear. Do not worry. Click on NEXT at the following screen. On this screen select No, skip this step and click NEXT On this screen select No, skip this step and continue installing Windows and click NEXT The CD will then speed up and a bar on the left hand side will progress. The computer will then restart itself. When the computer has finished restarting, a blue screen will appear saying Welcome To Setup Press ENTER to start the install process Press R to do the system repair. If the screen does not state, To repair the selected Windows XP installation, press R, press F3 twice to exit setup and restart the computer. The repair operation will not work. The CD winds up and a yellow percentage bar starts appearing Leave the computer for about 10-20mins In that time it has installed the setup files and restarted itself A new blue screen will have appeared and down in the bottom left a green percentage bar appears When the menu Regional and Language Option appears, click NEXT The setup continues to install, and once done it will restart by itself. When it starts up again, a short windows movie will start, then the Welcome to Microsoft Windows screen will appear Click NEXT then FINISH (found that the bottom right) You will now be back into windows and the refresh as been completed. please if you do this could you post here if it fixes your problem.. |

| 101476 | 2002-11-27 08:39:00 | Place Windows XP CD into your CDROM drive. Click the 'Start' button. Click the 'Run' button. Type in the following command: expand D:\i386/sysoc.in_ C:\WINOWS\inf\SYSOC.INF Notice that there is only one space in the command, just before "C:\". Also note that you will have to replace the letter D with the letter of your CDROM drive. This may require safe mode, try and see. |
