102025 2002-11-27 23:58:00 For some reason, the lastest versions of the Nvidia drivers for XP keep causing problems with my Gainward Gforce4 440.

It runs ok with all other things, except Nview and displaying to a TV.

I think partly my 30inch samsung might be the cause of the "not to clear" text on screen. but when it comes to playing a movie, using 40.xx, it will only play on monitor, and displays blank on TV. I have to make the TV default in order to get it displaying, which blanks out the monitor.

With the 3x.xx drivers it works well. Text is slightly clearer and when you clone, both screens can display the movie.

Is anyone else having this problem? Does Nvidia know about this problem?

(Also, what country does everyone place their tv settings in Nview as, as in NTSC or PAL.)
Thanks

102026 2002-11-28 00:07:00 Is there any big reason to switch from 3x.xx driver to the beta 40.xx ?

Golden rule ... if something is working fine don't touch it :D

102027 2002-11-28 00:15:00 the 40.72's are nolonger beta (tho they should be). i think nivida put in macrovision prtection into the drives. try one of the tvout fixes like tvtool (see the news for new ver)

i can't run the 40'72 due to it crashing out opera :( keep with what works.

When the certified 40.72 was announced, I downloaded and installed it and had the same problems as with the beta.

Cheers
