| 101896 | 2002-11-27 07:07:00 | Hi, Can anyone please tell me how to solve the problem of windows 2000 remaining connected well beyond the 'Idle before hang up time' The IHUG>status>Properties>Options tab is currently set to 5 mins but the computer does not hang up until 15-20 minutes after last being used. We use Windows 2000 to dial out from this two computer network system. I suspect it is affected by ZoneAlarmPro. In the time between last use and when the computer elects to go off-line I notice ZoneAlarm pro flashes its sytstem tray icon and this causes the network and dial-up connection system tray icon to flash. After this sequence is repeated a few times the network and dial-up connection beats ZAP and flashes then goes off line -but about 10-15 minutes later than expected. Thanks,Rusty |

I wonder if others have found that their disconnects are unreliable and by how much? I am currently disconnecting manually but we use our computer a lot here and it seems very convenient to walk away expecting it to hangup within 5 minutes. I should set it for 1 minute idle hang up and see what happens. I still believe it only happened since I installed ZAPro -they are yet to reply. I appreciate you sharing your knowledge. |
