101705 2002-11-26 22:59:00 Morning people,

Need some advise on a new DVD player, am looking at purchasing one and wondering if anyone has any recommendations.

Would like a reasonably cheap one $400-$500, good picture and features, with multi-zone.

Any suggestions

Cheers

101708 2002-11-26 23:13:00 I have a Mustek V560 Yukai DVD Player that I got for $350, ths is when they first came out, the price must have drooped byy now, but this DVD player had great picture and is multi zoned...

The only other one that I think is in the same range as the Mustek V560 Yukai DVD Player is the Panasonic DVD Player DVD-RV32

101709 2002-11-26 23:19:00 Furthur to this post, am I best to go with a player with SVGA output. I know that with Tv-out on my computer, this produces the best pcture.

Cheers

101711 2002-11-27 01:31:00 Dick Smith are selling a Mustek 56L-5C, that has all outputs (including component video). SVideo out (I assume you meas SVideo and not SVGA) as well.
It has all-zone ability (change via the remote to any zone or all zone) and also has Macrovision On-Off.

Current price is $229, an older model is $199, the newer one was on special at a new store last weekend for $199

101712 2002-11-27 01:33:00 Pioneer DV-355 ... awesome player. Am picking two up at trade which is $360 incl ... retail I think they are at $448 (Paul Money Audio).

Good reviews in Tone magazine, and will play everything short of SACD, DVD Audio and DivX.

Lo.

101714 2002-11-27 02:07:00 you have to turn them into VCD files first!!!
