102223 2002-11-29 00:31:00 I have heard about 100 different "requirements" for this game. Do you think it will run smoothly on:

Laptop:
Pentium 4 1.7 ghz-m
256mb DDR 2100 ram
nVidia GeForce 2 32mb DDR 4xagp Go200
20gb Hardrive (only 4000 rpm i think)

I hope like hell this works. I LOVE THAT GAME. The laptop should be arriving in a few days and I am thinking of buying it. I want to know if it will run perfctly/smoothly in 640x480. (I don't need any reso higher)

102224 2002-11-29 00:41:00 Minimum requirements (from the manufacturers site):

Win 98, ME, 2000 orXP
450Mhz CPU
96MB Ram
16MB graphics card
500MB hard disk free

You should be OK. You could run that game on a clunker of a laptop!

102225 2002-11-29 00:48:00 Your specs are kinda similar to mine, 1700+, 256mb RAM, 32mb Graphics card etc .

When I ran the game at 640 x 480 it ran ok with slight jerkiness when driving at fast :D . I dunno why this was though, as indicated by the above specs by honeylaser, it should have run fine ?:| .

Out of curiosity, does anyone know if GTA3:Vice City is coming to PC?

Your graphics card might be okay at 640 by 480, until you encounter stages where you are being chased by a lot of cops. It is so much harder to drive the cars with a low frame rate.

Be aware that once you enter the second area you will find that the frame rate will drop significantly.

I spent a bit of time tweaking some of its settings to get a good solid frame rate. It must be a good game as I played it right through.

Good luck.
