| 102132 | 2002-12-02 07:01:00 | Hello Antonia, While avg doesn't seem to be browser dependent, I've found if my explorer 6 browser is in working offline mode, and I connect to the net manualy, avg will give the message that you are getting. I'm not familar with Opera, but if it works in a off line mode, this maybe your problem why avg wont allow automatic updates. good luck, bob |

| 102134 | 2002-12-05 02:35:00 | After some deep digging in the AVG Helpfile I came across the following: Update Manager is automatically started by AVG Control Center or you can run it manually using AVG Control Center, Update Manager Tab. Note if you want to use this feature, you need: · to have installed and correctly set up your Internet connection · to have installed and correctly set up Microsoft Internet Explorer version 3.0 or newer on your computer. AVG Update Manager receives most of its settings from Microsoft Internet Explorer for example telephone numbers, passwords etc. I installed IE 4, which I still had on an old CD and He Presto ! Automatic Update works. This information may also be of use to you Pilot. Greetings, Antonia |
