102468 2002-12-03 02:29:00 Yes, thank goodness for ChatF1.net.nz :) I hadn't logged on to that chat site before, so it was a good opportunity to try it out. It was nice to find out I wasn't alone in not being able to log in too. Mind you, the fact that there hadn't been any posts in many hours to PressF1 kinda hinted that there was something major wrong with the site and not my PC ;) Rod J (451)
102469 2002-12-03 03:23:00 Surely the fact that the last post was my one saying how i was having a bit of a problem getting into PF1 from one of my machines, and then nothing for 1½days was a bit of a hint that something just may have been wrong with the server?

um no...
PDL have a history of making rubbish. i rewired my houses with PDL 500 series products 8 years ago, some of the plug sockets seperated and then burnt out, many of the dimmers died quickly without being loaded to any where near the rated max.
My industial sized PA and liting rig got a heap of industrial "heavyduty" PDL products thown at it at about the same time, most of which broke because the brittle clear "heavy duty" plastic was not up to the abuse these fittings would get in practice, such as being dropped onto the floor.. Some of them became quite dangerous.. 3 phase gear needs better quality, now i have PDL adapters to allow for buildings have 532 PDL sockets, but all my gear uses the internationally standard ceeforms from europe which use a durable soft plastic as well as infinatly better design.

I would use PDL if there had been consistant quality.. but there hasnt been, so i dont. All repairs to my house are also done using HPM fittings.
