| 103296 | 2002-12-04 07:46:00 | a friend sent me a file via email and cant access the attachment. Outlook say: "Outlook blocked access to the following potential unsafe documents" I know the file is safe as it's from a friend. I can't seem to find any options in Outlook to let me save the file. Does anyone know how to access the file? |

| 103297 | 2002-12-04 07:58:00 | Hi Pete In Outlook go to Options > Security and then uncheck the box beside "Do not allow attachments ....." etc. Just be very careful with any attachments received, whether from friend or not because it still could be a virus. Best to save attachment and then run your Antivirus software over it first. Jen |

| 103301 | 2002-12-04 08:07:00 | Hi Pete, I have the same problem. I have looked all over and in the Outlook Help files it says that by default some attachments can not be opened. I have resorted to opening Outlook Express and importing the emails to that program. By default that also has a block but you can go to Options and in Security untick that feature. I hope someone here can help opening attachments (those that Outlook deems potentially virus ridden) as I would love to find out as Outlook is my preferred email programme. sam m |

| 103303 | 2002-12-04 08:13:00 | go to file > import > then select messages. In new window select Outlook >Next then Inbox (assuming that is where your attachment is) then Ok and all of the messages in your inbox will go to Outlook Express. In outlook express click on Tools > Options then Security. Untick the "Do not allow attachments.........." then apply and Ok. Should then be able to open that attachment good luck sam m |
