| 103206 | 2002-12-04 01:21:00 | I ams setting up a Bare bones system Based on an Asus P4333-vf Mother board. It has a P4 2.26Hz Maxtor 60 gb 256m DDR I installed Windows ME ok then Errors of various types Followed by Registry problems I reformated the disk and tried reinstalling ME. No Luck Had a 1.01 Gb quantum fireball in the toybox replaced the maxtor with this and ME installed OK Took the Maxtor back to Harvey Norman they tested and declared ok and loaded windows on it. they deleted me. Took it home and still had my problem as follws:- Set up scan disk reports Fats do not match fix this Setup runs through- Please wait while set up Initializes Scanning sytem registry Copying files needed for system setup Packed file is Corrupt E:\> this is the current set of symptoms previously have had hangs at either scanning sytem registry or Copying files needed for sytem setup Have run all maxtor Diagnostics expet low level format without errors Have tried the disk in my working Compaq and it does the same Have emailed Asus and had no response to date Any clues Thanks Daveb |

| 103208 | 2002-12-04 03:31:00 | You can check your CD with a command like "xcopy d:\*.* nul: /s". The "nul:" device is the "bit bucket" = nowhere. That will try to copy all files, and complain about any errors it finds. | Graham L (2) | ||
