| 103202 | 2002-12-04 01:18:00 | My computer does not always go into sleep mode. Is there a way this can be achieved manually? - I mean through the keyboard or perhaps with a small piece of software? Tried a cold reboot, - it sometimes works for a while but then reverts back to sleeplessness. My OS: Windows 98SE Would appreciate some help, - thanks. Fritz |

| 103203 | 2002-12-04 02:23:00 | I too run 98SE and have given up on power management. Reading other threads on this subject suggests that power management works well when it does but is easyer to work around if it doesn't. My personal settings are "switch monitor off using switch just under screen when leaving room for any good lenth of time" .Clueless |

| 103204 | 2002-12-04 06:46:00 | I'm the same. I switch my monitor off, and leave the box switched on. Evidently its the monitor that consumes the power. I also find that I have less hassells if my puter dosen't have to warm up when I want to use it. More stable BALDY:-) |

| 103205 | 2002-12-04 10:03:00 | Have just discovered, that the computer can be put into 'standby' mode by clicking the button in the 'Windows Shut Down Dialog' box. (In the task bar click 'Start / Shutdown') If there is no 'Standby' button go to this address: support.microsoft.com |
