103140 2002-12-03 23:56:00 On my Win98 machine I used Front Page Express as my HTML editor. Now I have Win XP Home with Internet Explorer V6 and it does not have seem to have an HTML editor.
Can anyone tell me which programme to use.
Thanks

103141 2002-12-03 23:59:00 Hi Gale,

do you have a version of Microsoft Office? I believe Microsoft script editor is included on most versions of Office, and I've been using that for a long time as an HTML editor. Although I do think you need to specifically install it as it doesn't install by default.

Otherwise 1stPage2000 is a very good free one.

103142 2002-12-04 01:57:00 if you have M$ office, you may have fron6tpage built into it.. it's not the worst WYSIWYG html editor out... i would still not put aside using "notepad" as most of the best tricks will be done by editing .html directly

I do things like settting up tables using frontpage, but edit most values such as adding links or changing the location of a picture using notepad.. easy once you get the hang of it!

103143 2002-12-04 02:48:00 Any plain-text editor can be used (www.lockergnome.com used Notepad for ages and may still do). But a really good, free editor with lots of neat stuff is 1stPage available free at http: CompMan (2686)
103144 2002-12-04 03:43:00 1st page 2000 is great. it was my first and only html editor. its very easy to use. heres my web site that i made with 1stpage2000. http://www.cs-clanswat.tk.

Go 1stpage2000 heheheheheh
theres al so a free ftp program addon for it ass well.
note pad sucks. why do some people use it for making web sites. its so hard to look for stuff and you have to write the tags all the time!!

103145 2002-12-04 06:32:00 EditPad Lite is a very good text editor. Free from:

103146 2002-12-04 06:35:00 1st page is ok but has a few bugs like inserting height tags instead of width tags.....but for a free one its quite good.

notepad (or any text editor) is a very good way to learn. this is so you learn the codeing, the proper use of the codes and end up with bug free web pages. note- just because it looks ok in your browser it dosn't mean its bug free.

i pefer to use 1st page then edit with notepad.

103148 2002-12-04 10:02:00 Did you wont a direct replacement for "Front Page Express" because you might like to install Netscape or Mozilla, and use "composer?" from one of these two programs, but you might have to ask people who use these two program with windows.

If you know the HTML code you might like HTML-kit from www.chami.com (www.chami.com)
