| 103305 | 2002-12-04 10:03:00 | I have just bought this card for my system which runs an Abit SE6 motherboard which from what I can tell has a 4 x AGP slot on it. I installed the card and found no picture to the monitor when i powered the pc up. I tried the on-board vga, also blank screen. Removed the new card, found a bios setting that initialized the onboard agp slot first vs pci cards , set to yes and then re-installed new card, rebooted and still blank screen. Checked both abit motherboard site which says on-board graphics are disabled when a card is put into the AGP slot but that was all they had on AGP and my motherboard in the FAQ section of their site. Also looked at the Leadtek site but could not find much in the FAQ at all about the a170 series cards. Am I missing something simple? It seems strange that I can't even get a BIOS / POTS screen up with my new card. I suspect my bios settings may need looking at but the soft menu II award bios manual has little to offer. Thanks for any help from a frustrated new graphics card owner that won't go. Paul |

| 103306 | 2002-12-06 04:30:00 | hmm . . . . probably a bit late but its worth a try . What sort of processor does that motherboard use? I had a similar problem with my Soltek Skt A mobo took out the RAM and it wouldn't post no matter what . Was told by a technician that switch the dip swictches on the mobo for the FSB from Auto to 133 rebooting and back again would fix the prob and it did . If your mobo using dip switches or jumpers to set the FSB then its worth a try . You would need to swicth them from your current settting to auto and then back to your original setting . You've probably got the problem fixed by noew so this might be useless but its worth a try . This ones been bugging me for ages . |

| 103307 | 2002-12-07 09:35:00 | I have a Celeron 667 chip which runs a FSB of 100mhz. There are dip switches on the Abit board which are set to use the CPU default value (the mobo will do 66/100/133). There is an option to force it to 100 vs auto mode so I can try this and see. I also removed 2 x pci cards (modem & network card) from my pc and unplugged my 24x10x40 cd burner, plus 2x extra usb ports I had added in via a connector on the mobo - all of these things did nothing to make a difference. I'm starting to wonder if the card is faulty. The card had 3 x small leds on it, power and 4x agp are lit but a 3rd led labelled FRR is not lit. Power certainly is getting to the card via the agp slot and the fan on the cards graphics chip is active. Very weird and frustrating not to get the thing to go. Paul |
