103626 2002-12-05 20:21:00 Hi, rural Kindergarten here!

Our administrator computer had an exessive amount of potential users so I removed most of them, leaving only adminitrator and guest. Unfortunately this seems to have deleted half a years worth of emails and express folders which some emails were sorted into! I gather express customises itself to each user, even if the email and internet accounts are the same for all. I've managed to restore the address book (found the address book file for the old user and just copied it into the new one). Does anyone know how I can retrieve the old messages however? Thanks very much - Tarrangower Kindergarten.

PS - Tarrangower Primary School and Tarrangower Kindergarten are now going to share this login, this is the 2nd or 3rd time we've need help this year - seem to be getting ourselves in trouble a lot lately!

103627 2002-12-05 20:34:00 I recently had a similar experience with a colleage who runs XP, where a user ID was deleted.

All files in the user folders were deleted, and unable to be retrieved, short of sending the disk to a forensic analyst for an extremely expensive recovery.

103628 2002-12-05 20:48:00 If you managed to get the address book back then getting the emails shouldn't be a problem either. Just need to know the operating system the PC is running as they are stored in different places. CYaBro (73)

103631 2005-07-31 05:57:00 I have the same problem.....I was doing a Scan Disk, standard checked. When it kept asking me about deleting files, I quite. But when I went back to OE my folders and of course messages in them were gone. However, my address book was not gone. Would you solution help me? I am running Windows 98SE and Outlook Express, ver. 6.0-2800-1123.
Thank in advance for your help!
