| 103584 | 2002-12-05 08:55:00 | I dowloaded download accelerator from the PC World Nov 2002 CD and installed it upon my computer. It did not seem to be of much use and I subsequently uninstalled the program. Despite using the supplied uninstall function Netscape 6 seems to still want to use download accelerator for all downloads, even from this months PC World CD, but can't as it is not installed. And as such I cannot download anything! I can't seem to fix this, any suggestions?? |

| 103587 | 2002-12-05 20:16:00 | You know that Netscape 7 is out now, I know this isnt DAP related, but it's supposedly a whole lot better than 6! I personally dont use either, Phoenix does just fine for me! In IE (I know Netscape will be a little different) you can select the programs you wanna use for mail, webpage editing and other things, maybe its in Netscape. My best suggestion would be you re-install it, DISABLE browser integration yb right-clicking on the DAP icon by the clock. Then Right click on it and choose exit. Open the Control Panel and select Add/Remove Programs and then proceed to remove DAP! That should get rid of it! Cheers Chilling_Silence |

| 103589 | 2002-12-06 03:07:00 | It might be worth trying a registry cleaner to flush out the scraps that could have been left behind. Try one of these recommended cleaners: RegCleaner or jv16 Powertools (http://www.jv16.org/) EasyCleaner (http://www.toniarts.com/) RegClean (www.createwindow.com). Make sure you do a backup of your registry before using them though, either with the program's backup function or manually yourself. The Registry FAQ (pressf1.pcworld.co.nz) can help with this if you aren't familiar with it. Post back with your results. |
