103968 2002-12-07 06:47:00 Thanks for your welcome news of suggested programs. I have just downloaded
dw.exe Defrag Windows and thanks to advice from
Susan B Graham L and godfather
I can now go to bed at night and be assured that my defrag has been a complete success...and I suggest any one having defrag problems try it. You don't have stops at 10%
You don't have to watch for a long time
It will automatically SCANDISK
It will turn off your computer (if you wish that option.)
In the past with a scheduled defrag one was never certain whether it had occurred and I have friends on schedule who never ever Defragged.
It is the first time I have clicked an attachment to give the INSTALL number.
WOWEEEEEEE

103971 2002-12-07 19:32:00 If it's the one from www.pcmesh.com then I wouldn't bother as it didn't shut down my comp (just told me it was safe to do so!) so I couldnt use it at night and it took forever to defrag, without a glimps of an idea about how far through it was...and costs $60 is it? unlike diskeeper lite from www.diskeeper.com that takes hardly any time (in comparison) shows you what it's doing and where and is free
also it only did 3 of the 5 (i think) scandisk options...

I guess I just didn't like it!

103972 2002-12-07 20:36:00 Hi TrevO
I find it difficult that we are talking about the same Program.
It did Scandisk
It did shut down
After the first try it was fast
BUT you have surprised me when you mentioned $60 I thought it was $19 but I had no way of knowing whether it was US$ Euro or POUNDS.
Also if you had a password it was necessary to remove it.....
Sorry you think you got a bum steer....but it is still A-OK for me.......I will investigate the price!

103973 2002-12-07 21:00:00 you're right olldad it's $19 i thought it was $29 and assumed it was from US as it was .com instead of .nz (most .com's are us I think) so doubled it.
I'm on XP so maybe that's why it didn't shut down?
If it did shut down for me then I guess I wouldn't care about not knowing how far through it was or how long it took!! (me being asleep n'all)
glad you like it though

catch ya
trev

ps. how come you don't know how much you paid for it?

103974 2002-12-08 09:11:00 I used Visa but I was in the dark re Currency but I thought it was either NZ$19.00 or US19.00. I was not as astute as you to realize that .com equals US and I did not see .com AS I AM a NEWBIE and only see with one eye..(Literally). olldaddy76 (2539)
103975 2002-12-08 10:04:00 I use and like diskeeper myself very powerful and quick allows you to surf as well while defrqagging kiwibeat (304)
