| 103913 | 2002-12-07 03:01:00 | Hi all Just putt together a new pc the trouble is that it locks on IDE detection when the CD-Rom is plugged in.We singled out the cdrom to be the problem. we've tryed master slave settings on different primary secondary IDE sockets. If it is detecting and the IDE cable is pulled out the computer then shows that its detected but comes up cd error. tried different bios PIO settings any advice? |

| 103916 | 2002-12-07 03:56:00 | Unfortunately, the Wearnes CDS-32x is known for being 'slightly incompatable'. Can you borrow a CD drive ffom someone to verify? I think you'll find another drive will work fine. | wuppo (41) | ||
| 103917 | 2002-12-07 04:04:00 | perhaps your right but when i pull out the IDE cable while its detecting it says CDS 32x so perhaps the mb can reckonise it but the cdrom like u said isn't very compatible i'll try and get another cdrom and try it Thanks for the help |
