If it is Hardware related it might show up in Device Manager which can be reached via My Computer > Right click once > Properties > Device Manager > look for any yellow ! and / or ? against any of the hardware, that could/would indicate a hardware conflict or driver problem . Software ? could be a corrupted program in the start up . To see what is running if you have 98 to ME, go Start > Run > type in msconfig > Enter > select the startup tab and see what is ticked and therefore loading at startup . If you can access this in safe mode then remove the ticks from anything that does not need to be in the startup and Apply/Ok and restart . See if that helps . |

Last resort would be a reformat and reinstall Windows but if it is giving you that much trouble it would be a idea worth considering. Remember to back up what you can and have all the required disks and drivers handy if you do. |

You know if its safemode as it has safe mode written around the edges of the screen. Is this there constantly when you start your computer? |
